I have a 1994 eb that I am having problems with whe door locks. They won't work period. I have read similar post on newer explorers, just wondered if it also was the same problem on the 1st gens. Neither my remote of my switches won't work. also my electric rearview mirrors on the passenger and drivers door insnt working either. Also, this is way off the subject, if someone could explain how to search on this site I could look some of this up myself.

thanx

No problems on my 94 XLT. as for your search help, sometimes it takes getting just the right wording in the search box to find what you really want.

first place to start for electrical is fuses. grab a test lite and check every fuse in the truck.

im trying to remember from my truck but i dont recall there being anything that would cause them all to go dead (ie master switch or module)
for kicks double check the button on the pass door

Checked all fuses, all are fine. Even replaced a few just to be sure. Also replaces master switch on the drivers door. Still same problem. We just got 8 inches of snow here today so i have wrapped it up to go play. I just ordered a new front bumper from Pottsy to put my Warn Powerplant winch on. It will be here next weekend. I also have to install 2 KC light on the front bumper. I will look at it again when i tackle all the eletrical installations with the lights and winch. I hate running and tracing wire!!!

I also checked the switches on all my doors. None of them work.

Waynesboro, TN not too far from me

Nope, we aren't very far apart!
As for your lock issue I'm guessing it is inside the door(s) itself. I'm thinking it could be in the wiring harness that goes into the door. Either way it would require pulling the inner door panel off. Enjoy the snow, it's gonna melt fast.
I got 4.5 inches with 1/2 inch ice on top of it!
