1994 explorer headliner

Okay so heres my issue i know how to replace the headliner, i just need to get the plastic rivets off but every time i get one under my tool it cracks or the teeth come off the little rivet any one know how to fix this or get around it? thanks bunches

They have to be replaced... Sometimes you luck out but in my experience there is no silver bullet for this.

There old and brittle so they break. Some times you may get lucky and save a few but the best thing to do is get some new ones first then remove and do what you had planed. now finding the right color can be a pain but back or white are easy to find and so is paint (the Vinyl stuff for the inside stuff)

okay, so where would i go for replacing them? i dont care what color particularly

Local auto store with Dorman "Help" products. AutoZone definitely sells them by the box in the hardware isle.
