- 1994 Ranger 4X4
I have been a Ford Guy for years. My only previous experience with 4X4 is a 93 F350 that I use as a Farm work/dump truck. Nothing special, just a good old truck. For years I have ridden street legal Enduro motorcycles and road bikes but recently I had to give up motorcycles from body injuries. I love to go camping in a potato chip type step vav I made into a camper. With no more motorcycles, I needed a small vehicle to flat tow behind my camper to have access to the Fereral Parks and go where I need to go, while camping. My answer, a small 4X4. As I said, I am a Ford Guy. I already had my farm truck and 2 Expeditions. I really didn't want a jeep, or anything but a Ford. I found a 1994 long bed, regular cab 4X4 Ranger with a manual transmission and 4 liter engine. The transfer case electric shift motor is gone and it appears the folks that took it out weren't gentle. With all wheels off of the ground, it appears the transfer case and auto hubs appear to work. I am used to the manual 4x4 of the F350 and would like to manually adjust the transfer case. The only thing I have found is the Shiftster and I have not been able to contact this Company. No mail replies, no call message replies and I do not have Pay Pal, but it appears this is not working for Pay Pal either ( when I fanally got there). Has anyone got any real solutions for my shifting situation. I have searched the web and many conversations are junk. I am not not looking for thinkers, I am interested in real doers. Thanks for any help!
