does anyone have a list of all the parts for the rear brakes that i will probably need to replace? thanx

what needs replacing? shoes? drums? hardware kit? any abs components?

he said it looked like everything was dead, so i assume all that. im not too worried about ABS, i have a dead sensor up front and like it that way :) ive just never dealt with drums before

usually what you need is new shoes, drums, and wheel cylinders.

go to midas they will look at it and tell you for free and take it home and do it yourself

there isnt much to drum brakes... when you take off the drum take a pcture of how it looks.. then when you put all the new stuff on, make sure it looks like the picture.... drums are pretty easy....... especially compared to having to do the front brakes with rotors on our trucks...

youll probably need new shoes
new drums (if they arent resurfaceable)
and a hardware kit (new sprigs, retaining clips etc)

when you go to an auto parts store, they will be able to look up all the pn for you....

its easier then doing the fronts? haha, cool. the fronts were cake :D looks like ill get those done too this weekend...along with upper and lower ball joints, my mechanic friend is doing the joints though..only costing me a case of beer ;)

well, it depends.... the rears are easy, as all you do is slide the drum off after you remove the wheel..... but you dont have to repack bearings...... but the rear hardware is a bunch of spring type things that you need to put into certain places..... the wheel cyclinders if you need to replace them isnt too hard either, but after you do them, bleed the brakes to be safe, sucking in air is really easy to do when you disconnect the old one and connect the hose to the new one

bleeding is pretty easy.... but 2 people makes it a whole lot easier.... i have never done it with only 1 person... so i would have to bet it is harder that way, eventhough there are DIY kits to do single person brake bleeding
