Ok maybe I might sound crazy but I cannot explain it. When I bought the truck we check the tranny oil and it was fine. I then rode it for a few weeks and it started to slip and I checked it and it was dry. So I went and put 2 quarts in and it was fine. I then took it to Jiffy lube and had it flushed and oil refilled, and they claim they did not see a leak. I then gave it to my dad for a tune up and he noticed no oil, so again we added two quarts and went about the day. That was a saturday, by monday night I was out again and slipping, again adding two quarts. I then went on my fathers advise and added Lucus transmission oil and it seems fine but now I think I can feel it hard again, tomorrow I will check oil and hope there is some in there. But during all this time we have not seen a leak stain anywhere and I check daily and purposely park in different spots to make sure. Does anyone have an idea, or am I driving a truck stuck in the bermuda triangle.

Thanks

Check the vacuum line from the vacuum modulator on the transmission. Sometimes if this fails fluid can get sucked into the engine and be burned, no puddles and the level goes down. If you pull off the line you may find it coated on the inside with oil.

Yep, what he said.

Check your vacuum lines for softness and for fluid in side. Does she ping a little? If so I would say its the modulator.

Thanks for the reply's . Not sure what you mean by ping. Heading home today the check engine light came on as well.

john boy and billy were talkin about drainin the oil out of their trannies this mornin, and gainin like 1-1.5 seconds around the track haha. if the tranny is still in one peice after that, they fill/unfill it again and try for a second lap haha.

Get your codes read and post them up. That will help people troubleshoot.

Ping = pre detonation caused by build up of carbon deposits in the cylinder. throws the engine timing off. sounds like someone is tapping on your dash board when you acclerate. for me its around 2000 to 3500 rpms havent been able to ever get rid of it.

Well guys thanks for the advise and I was on my way to pick up a code reader when it all happened. On my way from jersey city to manahattan the truck seemed fine except the engine light. Finally on the way back it started to shift hard so I figured loss of oil again, so I went to purchase some and out it in. Got back in the truck started it let it get hot. Put my foot on the brake peddle and it hit the floor, Im like wtf. Then it caught after a bit. Then I dropped my friend home and proceeded back home to newark. Brake worked intermittently but then I noticed the truck would not really move between 15 and 25 miles an hour even though rpm's were normal. Then finally around 45 to 55 it would shoot out like a rocket. Burning smell then increased. I parked it and the engine was not running right. So there she is parked till I can get it to a mechanic on Monday.

Its either possesed or something wnet wrong in a short amount of time. :fire:

also, have you checked your coolant? there is a possibility of a bad radiator where the tranny cooler inside the radiator is leaking.

Tranny fluid

I have seen in other forums that it is a hole in the Vacuum Modulator valve and that the vacuum line gradually sucks up the oil and it is burned in the engine. Several people talked about the fact that in changing the valve, there is a small pin that gets dropped/lost. So be careful! Most people claim to have lots of other problems after changing the valve. Maybe ask Ford?

odd mine is almost quite the opposite i have enigne oil in my tranny and my tranny fluid and oil mixture just leaks out the rear seal but try dumpoing a few quarts of lucas in there and see what happens
