Should these be lighted buttons on my 1995 XLT?

I'm trying to figure out why my cruise won't work at all- won't blink the cruise light at all, and I have to track down a fuse location now since I dont have a manual... But are these buttons supposed to be lighted on the wheel?

Thanx, search is my friend! :D

No, they won't be lit. Assuming your fuses are good, your problem is probably the cruise control deactivation switch on the master cylinder. Use a test light to make sure you have power to the switch. If you do, then the switch may be bad. It's about a $20 part and 15 minute repair. Do a search on cruise control for more info. Also, I think there was a recall on it but it may not cover the 95s.

the buttons are lit. Lots of posts on bulb "replacement" issues.... expensive is your want the "exact" replacement but cheap with some of the work around "bulbs". As to why your cruise doesn't, the bulbs are not related to the problem. As pointed out, there is a good chance the brake pressure "fire" switch is your problem... :-) again lots of posts. You are right, search is your friend.

Thanks for the help all, it was a bad horn relay in the firewall box. xfatcatx saved the day... :)

I'll have to take apart an extra set of cruise buttons I have and see what's all in there... Thanks for the info!
