hi i am pretty new here and each place i try to post this it says i am not authorized---anyway it may be a big help to people

i have had starter problems with my daughters xlt and i am pretty good with fords till its come to electrical---everyone says its battery(new) then solenoid (new) starter (new)---- anyway i asked the right person last and thats because too many people bother him--yes i am rambling on
anyway if your ignition just makes a click and you don't think its the normal stuff then before wasting any money you don't need too then try hooking your jumper cables to negative post on battery and then to a ground on motor ( i used bolt on the alternator, its good and solid) then try to start it. if it starts your motor is not grounded. its probably corroded at end attached to motor.
this is probably here somewhere but i did not see it , anyway i hope it helps somebody because it certainly helped me!!!!!
by the way....i love this forum !!!!

yeah, with everything else new, motor ground/battery cables are usually the problem. using jumper cables to bypass them is an easy way to test.

ended up not even corroded just water in the ground that would not dry
ya think it would after this long
