I own a 1996 Explorer XLT and has 150,000 miles on a 4.0 litre engine. My first problem is my AC. It cools as it should but does not blow as hard as it use to. It seems as though it is restricted. My problem started when I had my transmission replaced.I ask mechanic what he did to it and he got mad, he said nothing. My speedometer is now 10mph off since trans install.Instead of 80mph its really actually going 70mph. Something happened there though. The hood venting louvers just under wipers were damaged in a hail storm so I had leaves in the blower motor cage where the blending door is located.I have vacuumed all that area out plus have tried running a fish tape through the venting.I have traced vacuum lines the best I can to no avail.I cant find a Cabin Filter or does one even exist in this model.I need help, It is very hot and I dress nice for work but I also sweat like a hog.I am off for a couple of days so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bubba

I doubt the trans install has anything to do with your blower motor. You probably have a bunch of debris stuck in the evaporator from when the louvers were off.

Depending how the conversation went, I am not surprised your mechanic would be offended.
