- 1996 Explorer XLT
I recently purchased my daughter a used (duh!) 1996 Explorer XLT.
Amonxst the problems was that there was no heat.
None at all. I checked this site and read about the Blend door problems and feared the worst.
But when I got it out the Blend door is actually NOT broken.
There is no 'Clicking' sound like some people have reported.
It was 39 degrees in the truck and we were freezing. I am ashamed to admit that I lost my temper and cicked the bottom of the Blend door housing. (OK, repeatedly). Anyway, the heat suddenly came on! and I did not have to rub two sticks together or build a fire!
But the Actuator motor still does not appear to work. And I cant be there to kick it for her when she goes off to colllege.
So my question is how do I test the Actuator motor while I got it out?
Someone told me that they heard you could use a 9 volt battery??? But they didn't know exactly HOW to do so.
