Hello all, Thanks for the invite although today is a tough day for me to get the fuel pump replaced in my car - 1996 Ford Explorer XLT AWD - I am looking for a diagram and any information any can help me with to do this myself.

You need to drop the tank, or cut a hole in your floor. I chose to cut a hole on my floor so i can have access to it again if need be. If your good with a grinder is go that route. There is a link as to where to cut, ill find it for you.

Are you sure you need to replace the pump? What are the symptoms? If the pump is totally dead, have you checked the FP relay and inertia switch? Just a couple of thoughts...

Welcome to the site. Dropping the tank in an Ex isn't that bad of a job. Took 3-4 hours for me, taking my time. Yours is probably far less rusty than mine, and should be a bit easier.
