I am having the hardest time finding an inexpensive lift kit or way to lift my explorer. What should I do? What can I use? I always tend to find stuff for '91-'94 Explorers but nothing in my range. Please help me!!

Welcome!

Try hunting around this site, esp the suspension forum.

Ultimately: what's your budget and goal tire size?

all i really want is 32" BF All-Terrains and maybe a 2" i really dont want to exceed $200 on the lift but i dont think it will get that high anyways.

2x4 or 4x4?

Well with a 2" torsion bar adjustment in front and warrior shackles and/or an addaleaf in the rear you've got 2" for under $100 (+ alignment). That will for sure get you 31x10.50s, 32x11s if you're lucky. You could tack on a 2" or 3" body lift for another few hundred to fit 33s.

Or you could go with just a 3" body lift to fit the 32s, but I usually prefer a susp lift, and the 2" TT/WAR lift is cheaper and much easier.

thanks a lot Alec, your a big help. I plan on becoming a member as soon as my modifications are complete.

I would do a 3" body lift to do what he wants, for the money he is willing to spend. And with a little front spoiler trimming and removal of the side kick panel spoilers he should be able to fit those tires, and or at least trim them to fit.

Torsion twists are 4x4-okay! :D You just shouldn't go over 2" if you're 4WD.

Section525,
I have a 2wd, and when I look at the 4wd version all I see is coils and radious arms. I sorry if I do not see that, but am I correct on this or is there Torsion bars on a 4x4 95 and later models?

ALL '95+ Explorers use tortion bars. Coils and radius arms are only on the 91-94s.

Well I apologize for the my ignorance, I thought that only 2wd had the Torsion bars. And I still can not find the bars on a 4wd. I have looked in the chiltons and Haynes and still can not find it, but You guys are the regulars, not me. Thanks for the education.
