Hey there - new to this board and it's already helped me fix quite a bit on my newest acquisition (2000 XLT 4x4), but I have a problem with our older ride and can't find anything to help.
It's a 1997 4.0ohv 2wd that dropped the tranny a while back. I had the tranny rebuilt but we kept having some issues with it locking up. Apparently the chassis harness (which has about 475 connectors) is dried out and cracking/arcing which is causing the problem. To add to the problem I'm told there were 3 or more different harnesses used that year and mine is the short run. I've been trying desperately to find either a replacement or someone who can rebuild the harness since the truck is still in great shape.
Anybody have thoughts on this issue, finding a replacement or harness builder, or maybe other options? I'm at a loss...
