Tranny Problem

I was servicing my Tranny (4R70W) and in the pan was a yellow piece of plastic. It was kind of mushroom shaped and about 1 1/2 " long, with a black o ring around it. Is this maybe part of the valve body or what? Also there was quite a bit of sludge on the magnet. The tranny shifts okay but still I dont know much about transmissions. Thanks

It must be the first time the trannys been serviced cause that is a dipstick plug that is inserted when the truck is shipped. If you searched, you'd find about a dozen threads about this "mystery part".

Keep it, and use it to plug a trans while being stored.
