Hello,

I have a '97 XLT 4 Door 2wd Explorer with the 4.0 OHV V-6.

I just had my cruise control switch buttons replaced on my steering wheel. The interior of my car has a bluish green backlit type look. My new cruise buttons do not light up.

I swear the old ones did but am not sure -- does anybody know?

I am still new but this site is great and has lots of info!!!

I know the ones in my '97 do.....well, half of them, anyways...lol
I've searched before, and there is a write-up on this site about replacing the bulbs...I know i need to do mine. ;-)

Thats what I was thinking. lol It seemed like the on/off ones still worked but the other side didn't. If the ones the dealer put in don't work can I just add bulbs to them? or do I need to get different ones. It always seems like simple stuff gets complicated.

Thanks 97XLT -- for the speedy reply

I had to replace buttons on my '97 as well, and they do light up. They're a little dim, though.

I replaced mine from the junkyard and modded in 5 LED's one per button, but I used green, they dont match but they do look good

If the dealer put them in, and the lights don't work, You should be bee-lining straight back to the dealer to have them fix it for nada. I would also make sure those lights in there match the rest of my dash lights. I too replaced mine from the junkyard, my dash is the bright green, but the buttons are the bluish/green color. For $15 I really don't care, but I certainly would if the stealership did the work.
