1997 Ford Explorer Sport sometimes develops weak idle and stalls out

I bought a 97 Ford Explorer about a year ago. Car runs great, looked clean and has run nice ever since I bought it and it also looked like somebody took good care of it or took time to maintain properly. As of now it has developed this symptom, that after you drive it for a while and turn it off and then start it, it develops weak idle and then stalls out. Restart it and same thing but you might get lucky sometimes, if not, let it sit for a while and then restart and its fine. No check engine light. My gf drives the car and says it is hunted and car doesn't like anybody else but her driving it because it doesn't do it to her, but she doesn't drive the car far, just work and back and errands, only on weekends with me we travel distances and does it. This is sometimes that the car does it, not always but I wanna solve it. Please help.

So we got hot idle problem and cold idle problem and nobody seems to know how to fix either of them.
