Having just replaced my engine having replaced the rear timing chain (What a job), contected everything back up and went to start it for the first time and nothing.
1. Battery fully charged
2. when i turn the ignition key the interior lights dim/go off.
3. There is is click
4. Have put a screw driver across the two terminal on the starter relay and the engine then turns over.

Any ideas???????????

non starter

Thanks evryone problem turned out to be alarm fault

either the start relay (the thing on the side of the fender well) or the ignition switch is gone and need to be replace. Another method I've used is to install a momentary swith to hooked up to the starter ralay and mount the swith where you could just push it to start the vehicle. Personally, I would replace the ignition swith.
