I have a 1997 Explorer sport. The bulbs in my fog lights need to be replaced. Does anyone make a super-bright white bulb that will work with the existing lens and harness? I do not want to rewire. Also, do you know if the lens caps can be safely removed and cleaned (very cloudy) without cracking them. There are plastic tabs on the lens cap, but there also seems to be a caulking around the cap? Any help would be appreciated.

They seel superwhite 893/899 bulbs on ebay. doa search there, around 13 bucks.

Brightness

How are those bulbs? Are they any brighter than the OEMs? I searched on eurolite Xenon bulbs, some people say they are far brgither than stock, others say they are worse? The price is right, same as the stock replacements. Any additional info. would be helpfull. Thanks,

I had them in my 95 and my 98 and they were definitely brighter than stock.

I have a combination of Eurolite 893 fogs and PIAA 9007 headlights and they're awesome! I see white light instead of the yellow light which somewhat diminish your vision. I recommand it!

Cool, I will definately them a try! Has either of you tried to take the lens covers off of the stock fog lights? After 4 years, the plastic has a film on the inside that I would like to clean. Thanks,

No, but I've heard someone flushed it with bleach and it's clean.

I never tried cleaning them, but they definitely couldve used it. I eventualy removed the factory fogs and bought the PIAA 1500s.

Hey Sideswipe,

How much brighter are the 1500's then the stock ones were? You think you could run those off of the stock switch?

The PIAA 1500s are MUCH brighter than the stock fogs. They appear to be as bright, if not brighter than my PIAA superwhite headlights. I AM running them off of the stock switch.

Awesome everything I wanted to hear! Thanks for the quick reply

Forgot to ask this, but were they easy to mount? Any special brackets or anything?

the 1500 series kit comes with mounting brackets, but you when you remove the stock fogs and if you want to put the 1500's in the stock fog location, you will have to drill 2 holes in the bracket that the stock fogs were located in. no biggie though. 2 dollars at most for the drill bit. just make sure they're lined up pretty nicely. measure twice, drill once :)

Eurolite 893 Xenon

Replaced my stock bulbs with Eurolite 893 Xenon bulbs yesterday. They look great, much "whiter" than the stocks. Will be looking to replace my headlight bulbs soon so they match. As far as brightness goes, a little bit of improvement, but nothing major. I would definately reccomend them, for the price of the bulbs you can't go wrong!!!
