1998 Ford eplorer shifter stuck in park

I have a 98 ford explorer 4.0 sohc just redid the engine runs great then tranny problems
error code P0750 would jump back ito first gear with help from nother member found blown vavle body gasket replaced with new one suv is on ramps refilled trans fluid with engine off then started and added fluid gotin and now its locked up in park can't **** it out any suggestions :exp:

There's a part under the steering column called the shift interlock solenoid. This part releases when you step on the brake pedal. Make sure that the brake lights are turning on when you step on the brake pedal. This solenoid makes a light click sound when it activates. You could test the wiring going to the solenoid with a test light.

It just seemed funny that as many times I used the ramps and did the tranny it locks up and I do have brake lights I"ll check the solenoid shortly are the as many wires as the 2000 tread shows withe same readings
