Hello! Looking for Advice: I am in search of a light duty hauler for trips to home depot/garden center. Eyeing a mint 1998 Ranger - 4-cylinder 5-speed regular cab long bed (6.5 foot) truck XLT Texas Edition. Here is the kicker: 216K miles and Check Engine Light for code P017 that has fixed with fixing the "usual suspects" that did not include intake gaskets or O2 sensors. I am not a mechanic, so I would be taking this into someone to fix should this problem reoccur other other problems occur.
The asking price is $3500. Owner claims he ran a 1990 Ranger with same powertrain to 430K miles.
Does this girl have more life or is this a recipe of banging my head against the wall?
