1998 Ranger with no power above 1,000 RPMS.

i need help! on my 1998 Ranger. I was driving like 35mph and just lost power
it starts fine just won't go over 1000rpm
no acceleration at all . check engine light on

The check engine light indicates that you have codes stores. Find out what the code numbers are, and post them here. Some auto parts stores like Autozone could read them for you for free.
