Help! I replaced the battery today and now the truck will not start the doors lock and unlock and the alarm will set and disarm but the engine will not turn over also the chirp sound thats tells me the securilock is working is not herd. the owners guide is not much help it tells me that if the anti theft system will not work take the truck to the dealer. Any one have any way of bypassing the thing to start. that will at least save me a tow bill as I am sure it won't be a cheap fix at my dealer

Does it make any sound when you try and turn it over?

Thanks for the reply! It did not even try to turn over or make any sounds. Today I pulled the dash down and found a plug connector coming from the alarm module when I shorted the wires it bypassed the alarm and now it starts I called the local ford dealer to get the alarm repaired and the service adviser told me that what I did is just what the they would have done. it seems that the connector was for a valet switch. Also even that the alarm was a ford part it was installed by the dealer and not at the factory. He referred me to a subcontractor that they use. I called and he will come to my house and replace the module for under a 100.00 some times luck happens. Petor

what cuased it to break though? personally, i would put the $100 on a real alarn system and throw away the ford dealer system that wont even let you unplug the battery....

I agree with Jimabena but in NY the basic alarm installed will run you $150+. Still worth it over the factory alarm.

If you're going to have an alarm put in your x you might consider a clifford or avital by dei, check them out @ best buy. They have a lifetime guarantee and the installation is guaranteed as well, and you could get it done for under 300 prolly.
