1998 trip computer

Can i take a trip computer out of a 98 limted and but it in my 98 xlt???Is there a wireing harrness there???

The computer question. A very famous question here on the boards and the answer is yes...but with a whole lot of labor. Do a search, there're a lot of threads on this subject.

a ton of wiring... why do you want to switch from a LTD to and XLT?

Some say it takes up to 22 hrs of wiring. good luck and hopefully you can amaze us!

The XLT won't have any kind of pre-wiring to a harness which you can just plug the trip computer into. All the wiring for everything that the trip computer does will have to be hand done. It is not an easy job by any means!!

The job is actually pretty easy if you find yourself a new harness. About a days worth of work switching the harnesses...... and will save you the hassle of doign the wiring yourself. Remember, anything is possible..... especially when it comes to wiring.

For Example....... I am putting a Eddie Bauer Message Center in my 1991 Explorer. it'll be bolt in.
