Shane, To tell you the truth, I have no idea. I have had a fog light, a headlight, and a brakelight go out.......but I never looked at the computer to see if it "knew" that.

hmmm..........maybe I will go take a bulb out and see if it works

$765.00:eek:  Man I hope you use that thing everyday and love it. I personally wouldn't put more than a couple hundred in it, but that is just me.

Dude, it's not worth it at all. It's way too expensive for a little thing that doesn't really help ya at all. It only tells ya how much fuel used and your average mpg is, that's all. You can do the exact same thing when you have paper, pencil, a calculator, and a little time on your hands, exact same results, even more accurate too. The computer is usually not accurate, especially when it's displaying the "miles to empty". I never trust that thing because it's obviously false.

The lights out indicator does work. One time my brake light went and when I checked, it surely is out. This feature is another waste. Again, use a few minutes of your time in the morning and check the light bulbs to see if they're functioning. If it's out, replace it. It's that simple. This computer is just another one of those useless gadgets in the car.

but it looks cool and expensive( a little too much for me) so itz outta the question!

Good idea gone bad by $$$ once again!

Yeah , I am out too. Too much cash for what it's worth.

Oh , how does your computer know when a light is out ?
Come on guys !!!! Think about it for just a second
What exactally IS a light ?
It is a light ( no pun intended ) guage wire coil that completes an electrical circuit. You break the circuit when the bulb is blown or even missing.
you break the complete circuit , the resistance changes it trips a warning light , you can get it from here ( I hope )

so if you already have a trip computer to be installed it would only be 300?
