Hello, This is my first post to this forum. It looks like this is a great place for people who actually use their explorers other than grocery getting.
I bought my explorer a little over a year and a half ago, to pull my 18 foot jetboat to the lake. It works awesome and we loved driving it everywhere we could afford. Then I found a deal on a 2001 Range Rover and we bought it. We have now owned both for almost a year. I played around offroad with the Range Rover and was really amazed at what it can do with very little effort. Nothing like some of the serious offroading on here, but still impressive to me. I was talking about how well it did with my friend and he said I couldn't continue to brag up the Range Rover until I gave the explorer a shot. Well, I then took the Explorer down the same trail and it made it too. It bumped the rear bumper once, but I think it has a better approach angle than the Range Rover although ground clearance wasn't as good. The explorer wasn't as smooth in the rough, but it made it just fine. The Explorer is completely stock with stock style street tires.
Unfortunately I am here because I am looking for a new home for the explorer. I will post in the classified area if you have one. I will keep coming to this board to see what events may be happening in my area Kansas City Missouri. The Range Rover is in the Ford Family now right?
