also my overdrive light blinking also so i can take that somewhere and get it tested to get a code right?

Yes Tim, get the codes read. Probably the converter clutch.

this might be a dumb ? but not used to have a new car, but the overdrive light dont come on soon as i start it only after i drive it for a few minutes. can it still be tested without the light on or should i leave running?

The code will remain in memory until it is erased with a scantool or reset by disconnecting the battery. Truck does not have to be running. And certainly not a dumb question.

Sounds more and more like Torque Converter Clutch, because it is not engaged until the transmission reaches operating temperature. Thus, starting out cold, PCM "sees" no problem yet, until warmed up when it then commands TCC engage, and detects it has not engaged, then flashes light. imp
