1999 explorer auto shifting problem

I have a 99 explorer automatic. When it gets good and hot, the tranny sort of hesitates while it shifts from 1st to 2nd. Like a slip, but stops after a second. Can anyone tell me what to look for or is the tranny ready to die.

Look in the transmission section of this forum; there
are many write-ups on this exact problem. It's called
a 'flare'.

Many people solve it with a new or rebuild valve body,
new gaskets, new solenoid bracket, etc...
