1999 factory stereo

is there an anti-theft set up on the factory stereo of a 99 explorer. im trying to hook up a 99 in a 96 explorer. yes the plan is to completely reroute all speakers to the 99 stereo bypassing the 96 amp in the back. but wired direct I cant hear any sound coming out of the directly wired up speakers.

There isn't an antitheft in the 99 radio. You might have some wires messed up.
