1999 Ranger xlt sport
I have a 1999 ranger that has a small jerk in it just before I come to a complete stop and when I first give it gas to take off. I don't know if it is the transmission or what. Also the door ajar light has started staying on while driving. I can't find the striker on the door that the door hits. If anyone has an answer to the problems I would appreciate it. Thanks to Al the speed sensor fixed my ABS light staying on problem.

I would get underneath, and take a good look at driveshaft u-joints and flange bolts, and u-bolts on the rear axle.
What transmission do you have stick or auto?

That is the slip yoke binding. Ford has issued about a dozen TSBs on that over the years. Search on "slip yoke" and you will find numerous threads on the subject.
