- 1999 Ranger
I'm working on a 1999 Ranger with a V6 and 156,000 miles. It ran fine one day, but the next day it fired right up for 1 or 2 seconds then went into a very rough idle only for 8-10 seconds then died. It'll restart right away and do the same thing again. For the 1 or 2 seconds it revs up and sounds OK, so I don't think the cam has jump time. I removed the exhaust at the end of the Y pipe, and it still runs the same. The fuel rail has pressure at the test port, but I don't have a guage to see exactly how many pounds of pressure.
Could this be a bad mass airflow sensor? Any other ideas? Thanks
