Hello All
Not sure what the problem could be. Had this problem for awhile and basically put it on hold.
My 95 Explorer XLT with a 4R55E Transmission is having problems shifting from first to second gears. The only way it will shift is if I back off on the gas around 3,000 RPM's going 30MPH.
At one time I heard it could be the valve body gasket. So I replaced it. Still having the same problems. Check the resistance on the solenoids and did not find any opens or shorts. did find that the coast clutch solenoid might not be working properly. While coasting down the mountains my RPM gauge reads idol RPM's and it never used to do that. Usually around 2,000 RPM's
