Got the box built today for the 2 BTL 18s, went over to a friends house

it is 12 cubes @34hz with 150sq in port, Hifonics XX Goliath @ .7 ohms

It Beats:D ... hard

ran into a problem, one of the wires came undone and i couldnt figure out what happened, we didnt think anything was wrong at first, it was still crazy loud, but got everything fixed now

box weighs a ton, top baffle is 3 layers thick, and the sub is flush mounted in

some pics during the box build and some bad night shots

the tools and speakers along for the ride

Final Turnout:

Since i fixed it, i havnt even went on it yet, only to about avg listening volume, got a good bit to go tomorrow :up2somet:

neighbors suck :(

Wow

Hey mang, you think my two AX3000DE amps could push two of those 18's each? They put out 3,000 rms into 1 ohm. I hate you by the way. I will get my 4-18's son. I am also going to hunt you down ;) nice.

nice..for some reason i thought you had a 2nd gen.

i would have done the port a bit differently but whatever works.

easily push them, they dont need 4k to get going

bring it...

how would you do the port? all along the bottom? or what?

i did it that way because basically i thought it looked cool:confused:

so far its only at 151, i got a few more digits to go on volume, i think i can get it to 155

it meters on the epic louder with all doors and windows closed and what not so far ive only paid attention to a 151 with both front windows open

the way i have the gain its set at 20 or 21 vol, and the 150 was at 18 volume and its a big difference between the numbers, from volume 17 to 18 i go from about 146->150db on the epic

either all along the bottom or vertically in the middle

about 500 new

Damn! Do you compete or is this a DD system? You drive around at that volume all day? Won't the windows blow out, or body panels come loose from all that?

thats some crazy bass

That would be jus dumb. Coming from someone who used to do comps, a 150 or 155 bumpin round town all the time IF done would kill your hearing within a season or two.

And no, it's a lot more then a 155ish to pop out a window or panel.

What are u hitting and what meter are you trying on...

Or have you not tried it yet.

Im a dd system and im running 148 to 149db on a termlab meter.

windows will not blow out unless you're 150+ and hitting really really low notes. Or typical high bass and donig 160+

with low hitting daily driver setups some weird stuff can happen over time. Roof braces can break, electrical grounds come loose, rear view mirrors fall off etc but nothing super major.

I can do over 150 on the termlab playing music with the truck off and only using 2 amps but my truck doesnt flex very much at all. Atleast not from my point of view. i guess i got a tight one

I there a reason why you didn't put a divider in the middle? Also a rule of thumb I usually go by is 15sq" of port per cube which would put you at 180sq". What was your theory behind that or did 150 just sound like a good number? I am running 100sq" at 5.5^ft per sub, but I use a plug for daily use that brings the port size down to 75sq".

no reason to put one there, box dosent have to be divided

im aware of the 15 sq in rule, ive followed it on about all my other boxes, but i was trying to keep the height down, so i went for 150sq in instead of 180, 150 is still plenty though

still gets hella loud
