I want to do a 2-3" lift on my 2001 Explorer Sport. I heard that you can use the add-a-leafs from a 95-99 Sport because they are the same suspension. Is this true? What is the difference between doing that or just using blocks between the axle and leaf springs from a basic auto parts store?

You best bet is to get a set of leaves from a 4 door explorer and install an addaleaf in those and also use Warrior shackles to lift the rear. The Sport leaves are weaker and will sag and also the aal's for the sport leaves are much more expensive. Or you can get a new set of 2" lift springs from OME and also use the Warrior shackles if you want more lift in the rear. Blocks will actually lower your truck since the axle is on top of the spring.

There are 2 different aals I recommend, both for the stock 4 door leaf packs: a single for 1-1.5" of lift, $27, or a double for 2-2.5" of lift, $75. Both are ProComp and available from 4 Wheel Parts.

Just so you know, any leaf pack from 91-01 Explorers are swappable, as well as the new Sports and Sporttracs.
