ok, i was looking at getting about another 2" infront to go along with AAL/shackles in rear. what i want to know is;'

1) ho safe are coil spacers?
2) i can get a set of duff coils from the 2.5" lift kit for the same price as spacers..should i get them instead?
3) are there extra parts i will need with either (ie extended brake lines, etc..)?
4) how hard/easy would wither be to do? (i'm guessing same procedure)

#1 No safety issues that I know of. I have been running them for about 3 months or so now and have noticed no abnormalites.

#2 If you get the springs you'll also have to get the drop brackets for the axle. With the 2.5" springs you won't be able to align the front end. The max(I beleive) you can lift the front without drop brackets is 2". (You'll still need to align the front with the spacers though.)

#3 You won't need extended brake lines with spacers. With the 2.5" you probably will. (I have no experience with the 2.5" lift:) )

#4 Yes same procedure. you'll be taking out the springs anyway for both. Like I mentioned earlier though, if you do the springs you'll need the axle drop brackets.

Hope some of this helps to answer your questions.

ok, so sounds like i better stock with spacers..next question:

do i go to the dealer and get form f150 spacers or get ones off ebay or daystar? does it really matter?

is just spacers gonna give you enough to level it out? might want to think about 2" kift coils. but im not sure how much lift spacers give. it doesnt matter where you get the spacers but if it was me id get them from a local ford dealer.

well, the rear sags about an inch or so. i figure with 2" spacers, AAL and shackles, it should look better.

It will look better. I had the same problem that your describing. If you go on ebay and look for a "complete 2" lift for explorer" you should find the exact thing I have, because that's what I bought. Combine that with shackles and you should look alright. The front is 2" spacers and the aal gives you about.....1.25" or so. You'll get more than two inches in the rear becasue of the combination of shackles and aal but it will look more level. The kit cost me on ebay about 90 bucks the shackles where 50 and then I had to get an alignment because of the spacers and that cost me about 150 bucks. The alignment may or may not be cheaper than that.

alignments are usually about 150 for the ex...they have to repack the braeings, supposedly which hikes it up. i kinda get the concept of the AAL and shackles, but how do the spacers go in? i should probably search first, but dont have the time right now.

yeah aal and shackles are pretty easy. The spacers you have to put the front of the frame on jackstands and then take the tires off and then take out the bolts for the sway bar links and then loosen up the radius arm nuts and then remove the nut inside of the coil spring. the coil spring then just twists out like a giant screw. You have to mark the coil spring to make sure you get it in the same spot. You put the spacer on the stud where the nut came off and then you reinstall the spring and put the nut back on and put everything back together, and then you are ready for the other side. If you search for "id50" he has a pretty nice writup of it somewhere. That is what I read when I did mine.

:D HEY! it`s ld50, as in L

I thought I`d butt in and say if you or anyone decide to buy the 2 inch lift with coil spacers and add-a-leaf separately, then I have 2 add-a-leafs sitting here collecting dust. Free for elite members, just pay me for the shipping.
They only have a few months on them, and you would still have to buy the spring bolts to bolt your springs back together.

-the leafs were from the ebay kit:
Explorer Pro Comp add-a-leaf. part # 56001

Ford F-150 spacers part #`s
#F2TZ-5A307-A
#3F2TZ-5A307-B

this pic shows the lift:

how much would the shipping be though? (us zip 48135)

and are te ford spacers 2"? dont happen to have a set or WAR153s laying around do ya?:)

Seems to me the Ford f-150 spacers were not quite 2 inches thick, we put those on carsonm`s truck and noticed that. The poly ones that I got from the ebay kit were 2 inch tho`. I don`t have a part# on the polys.

I would have to package the leafs and price it out at the post office to be sure, but it would probly be 10 bucks or so, I figure. I would have to do it tomorrow, because they are at work right now.

thats fine bacause fri aug 22 is payday:D just let me know.

also, you got a paypal?

I have no paypal!
(and no shackles either, I missed that last time)
I will need an international money order I guess, if that sounds good to you. Make sure you specify international, sometimes you can`t cash a regional one.

I`ll price it out tomorrow, and pm you. if you are in a hurry, I could send it out sooner, I think I can trust you, or else I can slander you here!:D

its too bad you dopnt have a paypal, that makes things so much easier, but i'm still interested, i just have a few questions:

oh, i;m good for it. but i've never sent anything alross the border before. i usually buy money orders from the us post office. where would i get an international one? would a western union one suffise? since its not a huge amouint, would a personal check be fine? also, other than the regular us stamp, any extra postage on the envelope?

I get international orders from the bank OR post office. it is likely that you have bought one before, it`s just that some are only meant to be criculated in your own country.

If it`s only a small amount you could just put cash in there for that matter, and send by registered letter.

let me see how much it is today, i`ll be home later tonight and we`ll figure it out.

sure thing dude!

hey, if anyone is wondering, udmsvt is in fact, getting the leafs, no need to ask!

Special nod goes toTat2dExploder who gave me the idea to save these things from the dumpster, and give them to someone who might want to use them.

I`d like to see more of this around here!

i'll keep my ears open. about the only spare parts i have are OEM cornerss and tails.
