1# anyone ever heard of a trans filler tube rusting out ? checked my trans fluid tonight and the top of the stick is covered in rust chunks. further investigation seems to be the tube is rusted away.

2# rotted Body bushing Ford no longer sells for my year, 01 xlt 4wd 4dr4 4.0sohc
I have found some online from prothane suspension but they do not come with the hardware. Anyone know where I can find new bolts and nuts for them.?

Thanks for any help in advance...
Kevin

If you drive on salted roads I'd be surprised if your tyres aren't rusty.

Bolts are bolts. swshawaii gave good advice.

Yeah it happened to my 2001 Explorer (XLT, V6) about 2 years ago. Probably around 150K miles at the time. Exact same symptoms - chunks of rust on dipstick.

Small shop replaced it for something like $150 (I could be off on the price a bit).

Has not been a problem since and shifts great. 168K miles now

Yup happened on both my F-150's. Rotted oil and trans dipsticks are pretty common on any rust belt vehicle over 15 years old.
