So in my explorer I am running a 15" Fi cone and coil with the RE SX motor(2ohm dual voice-coil). The amp I am using to power it is the Rockford Punch 550.2channel. And a big ass box ported with 5.56 cubic feet.

I am curious how to run my amp as a 2 ohm because it is 4 ohm bridged; the way I run it. Well it keeps pushing my amp too much into protect mode. So I try to keep it down, but was just curious how I would go about making it 2ohm connection from the amp.

The thought I had was to run each voice coil to each of the channels. So one coil goes to channel one, and the second coil connects to channel two.

Anyway, thanks in advance, and here is the photo I have been wanting to post on here. :)

5.56 cubic feet of awesome!

you could wire it to each coil if that amp does a 2 ohm load per channel (wouldnt recommend it), easiest way is to wire the sub to a 4 ohm load and then bridge the amp, but you best bet is to find an amp that is 1 ohm stable and wire the sub to that

How is it wired now?

edit:
sorry. I guess I read too quickly and thought I saw you said two subs. You can't wire it to 2ohm. only 1, or 4. get a bigger amplifier

Allllright... was hoping to avoid spending a **** ton of money on a 1 ohm amp. But I guess I could use the power for the sub.

Anyone want to trade?
