2 questions about my 03

first off how do you replace the light under the mirror? i tried popping it off but was afraid of breaking it.
also on my hatch where the ford emblem is that plastic peace mysterisly cracked without anything striking it lol can that peace be replaced or will i need a whole new rear window hatch thingy

hello.

What light u talking about? Thr light underneath the outside mirrors? Or the one on the inside in the rear view mirror?

The plastic that has cracked on your back window is a very common problem wit hthe 02-05 Explorers. Mine cracked last winter too, had it replaced for about 300 bucks, not the window, just the trim part. Your looking I'm sure close to 300 bucks to replace that trim, but this time, how they glue it on it won't break like it did from factory.

i also had the rear panel that was cracked, it is a common problem, i went to the dealer and bought the part thinking i would just paint it and install it myself, i paid around $52 dollars for the part and then found out paint wasnt cheap, so i went back to the dealer and they gave me a quote of $200 to paint and install it for me.

How does it look w/o the part? If mine breaks, it might just have to be broken... Is it tough to install? Or did you both have the dealer take care of it?

right now the old part is still on, i didnt want to take it off. but im getting it replaced next week.

Oh, so we're talking about the strip that covers the liftgate handle? I'm gonna go look at that area, sounds like a lotta money to replace it. My goodness!
