Question for the 5.0 folks.... my 96 XLT 2WD with 100K on the clock cranks and starts on a 2-second cadence every time......meaning I turn the key and count one-thousand-one, one-thousand-two while it cranks, then it fires. It does this consistently, hot or cold.
Now you may say, WTH...be happy! And basically I am, but I've had 5.0's in other Fords and Lincolns that started much quicker than that. Also, the cranking speed seems a tad slow to me.
Might this be a battery getting ready to go? Or maybe a starter that's drawing too much juice? Or does this sound like a normal 5.0 fire-up?
