Since I now have manual hubs, is it possible for me to use Low Range while in 2WD? What iI really mean, is if I am too lazy to get out of the Explorer if I get stuck, will it do any damage to the drivetrain even though it will only be for a short time only? Thanx in advance for any help.

I don't understand your benefit. Is your trans auto or manual? If you were not going to 4-wheel and were slipping, you want to deliver less torque to your two wheels, not more. Low range will deliver more torque. Low range will make it harder to come free if you have an auto trans. if you are manual, and want to get unstuck without 4WD, use second and feather your clutch a little. I have auto hubs on my explorer, but I have read recommnedations agaist going to 4WD on the T-case of my GMC truck without manual hubs locked in. I couldn't technically figure why, except that the hub is probably not made to have the axle shaft turning parts against other parts for more than a few revs.
