2002 Eddie Bauer 4x4
I am looking at purchasing a set of 20" wheels with 275/45/20 tires. My question is regarding 4x4. Someone told me that if I have a 2002 Eddie Bauer with 4x4, the center cap or hub will be larger than a 4x2 so that I would need a larger opening in the center of the wheel. Is this true? Also is their any paticular offset I should be looking for? Thanks for the help in advance.

Yes, that's completely true. You won't be able to get any wheels with bolt cover plates or anything, cause the hub will stick out, and you need that wider opening.

You're offset should be +35mm to tuck just like stock, though, I managed to use +15mm and come out PERFECTLY to the edge of the fender on my 2nd gen. Search for "Black Magic"s Explorer on here, he has a 2001 Sport (new style like yours) with +35mm offset, so you can see what it looks like.

No that isn't true at all for an '02. They don't have hubs that stick out.

Well, don't mind anything I said then, I swore they did.
