2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 SOHC with no start problem, Vehicle has been sitting for a month. Good Battery, fuel around 62 psi when key turned forward, appears to have fire on the plugs. Tried starting fluid but motor didn't even hit. Used light tester and seem to have power on injectors all the time when key turned forward, pulses when rotating motor is this correct?. Any ideas why it wont start? I'm new to modern Ford vehicles, the only one I've owned before was a 65 Falcon.

search for " Dale's Helpful Threads " - engine no start procedure or something like that - very thorough.

with that engine, do a compression test on a cylinder from each side. further, check your fuses.... it sounds like you have no spark.

If it is cranking fine but not catching and you have fuel pressure then try disconnecting and reconnecting the Crank Position Sensor CPS that is next to the balancer pulley. This clens the contacts a little.
