- 2000 FORD EXPLORER 5.0 V8
Hello! I have a 2000 ford explorer with the 5.0 v8 and its awd. I drive it every day and it now has 232,000 miles on it. It currently will not start. The engine turns over but will not fire and does not even sound like it wants to fire. This issue has been developing slowly over the past 2 years yet i always just thought it was a possible battery issue because while cranking the engine over the battery would die and i would have to wait a minute to turn the engine over again and it would start. I took it to the local ford dealership about a year ago because it started doing this more often yet of course while it was there it started right up every time like nothing was wrong with it. They told me they hooked it up to the diagnostic computer and it had many reports of a trouble code relating to the crank position sensor i believe they said so they cleared it because it was starting normal at the time. Please give me some input and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance
