Hi,
A few weeks ago my 2000 Eddie Bauer developed a low engine knock. It doesn't start knocking (or I can't hear it at least) until the engine is good and warmed up and the knock is definitely in the bottom end of the engine. It sounds somewhat slow as compared to knocks I have heard in the past and it increases with acceleration. It doesn't sound like a slapping noise, just a constant thunk thunk thunk thunk. I change my oil regularly and constantly have good oil pressure, never have seen it dip once after I turn the truck on. It also sounds like the truck may be missing every couple seconds but it can only be felt at idle and makes a slight vibration in the truck which cannot be felt in the gas pedal. About a month ago after my oil change before last I also put a quarter of a can of sea-foam in the oil, could that have broken down the oil to encourage engine wear?
Any ideas? I am really at a loss and will probably take it to the Ford dealer this weekend (chaching haha)
