Is it difficult and what year seat swaps out other than a 2000?
What's a decent price too?
Thanks!

Finding a decent driver's seat for a Gen II isn't that easy. At this point in time most are very worn and ripped. Exactly what's wrong with your seat?

I think pretty much any Gen II seat will bolt in, but the seat belt receiver is different on some years and you'd have to swap in your original receiver (not a big deal) and I don't know about the wiring on power seats. I know the /97's had the air pump for the power lumbar bladder. I would look for something as new as possible (2000/2001). A leather seat can be recovered (I've done it) but it ain't cheap. I'd say if you can find a decent seat for $100-$200 that would be a fair price.

It's springs are broken, collapsed, and covering is ripped. I just want to get it replaced and was wondering how big a deal it is. figured getting the seat rebuilt would cost me more than the Ex is worth. Local junk yard is having a 1/2 price you pull it sale so I'm thinking I can do that if it isn't a huge deal to get it out.

Someone on the Sport Trac sub forum is having a similar issue. One of the other members gave him some advice of what parts can we used from a passenger seat to rebuild the driver's seat. Passenger side seats tend to be in better shape than driver side seats.
