2000 Explorer rear window defroster, The problem is that the electrical contact that is connected to the glass has let loose and there by swinging around in the back by the coiled wire. Any Idea of what kind of adhesive Ford uses to adhere the metal piece to the rear window? The metal Piece I'm talking about looks somewhat like a Horse Shoe and what ever adhesive they use has got to be conductive.

^ Amazon reviews for that don't look very promising with near half the reviewers giving it the lowest 1 star rating possible on Amazon. How do the glass repair shops reattach it?

I wonder if it would take and last if the wire were pre-tinned then the window cleaned and coated in plumber's solder flux before soldering (with just the pre-tinned wire and plenty of tinning flux, no addt'l solder during soldering).

Was just an example, there are quality kits made by loctite, and others. I’d just grab it local. They are typically very durable, and this is how a glass service would fix it. If you have the tab, you can buy just the conductive epoxy.
