- 2000 Ford Explorer XLS
Hi. I am having trouble with my 2000 Ford Explorer. For the past month there have been a few times the truck wouldnt start. When the key is turned the starts a little, but when u let the key go, it dies. After a few times of this procedure the truck would start and be fine for a while. Now yesterday after coming out from dinner to go home, the truck did the same thing except this time, it did not start at all. So what I did was, after some turns of the key, was give the truck some gas, the truck revved up and as soon as i let my foot of the gas.....poof....it died again. So in order for me to get home I had to keep my foot on the gas to keep the idle up & put it in neutral at red lights and press the gas a little so it wouldnt stall. So today I thoughy "maybe" it was the battery. So cleaned up the terminals and clamps and what do you know, NOTHING, the truck acted the same. Now Im thinking maybe a fuel pump or something. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be. Sorry for the length. BTW....my truck is a 2000 Ford Explorer XLS, 40,000 miles. Thnx.........later
