I have an automatic 2000 Ford Ranger that clunks when it shifts into drive. I have changed the alternator already ( as it wasn't charging) and the problem still persists. Can anyone help?

Ford Ranger

All fluid levels are good. Took it for another test drive and it is now clunking going into drive as well as it will come out of drive causing engine to rev. It keeps on doing this.
