My 2000 Explorer V8's air completely stopped blowing any air. Weather it be hot/cold feet, vent, defrost....I can hear clicks, dropped my glove compartment and did see anything out of place. When i do put the rear air on, it blows air. I've read this can be pretty pricey if i take it to get fixed. Would like any and all suggestions to fix myself! Thanks in advance.

::EDIT:: I did exactly what intelisevil and Mas Tequila suggested. I followed the video and bought the part from a local auto parts warehouse(Churches Auto). The installation was exactly like in the video for my vehicle.
NOTE: the new blower assy. did not come with a new gasket, my old gasket did come off perfectly, but it didnt quite fit the new assy. so i applied the blue gasket seal Churches gave me to use. Let cure overnight and it fired right up this morning. Thanks for all the help!!!

Cheap and easy fix. Here's a quick band-aid and a permanent fix.

The same thing happened to my '99 Mounty V8 last Sunday. After searching around on this site and others, I took a large screwdriver handle and tapped the motor housing (under the hood, passenger side near the firewall) a couple of times and the motor came back to life! All speeds working.

I'm going to replace the motor (about an hour and $40) before winter but I'm good for now!

Dan. This is awesome. I did exactly what you said and the air started blowing. I'm going to pick up a blower assy. tonight to replace.

Thank you very much for the help. :salute::thumbsup::us::us::us::us:

Make sure you get the blower motor that comes with a new gasket.

The old WILL NOT comw off in one piece.

Guess how I know that.

I was changing mine after work one evening and tried saving a few dollars, but it didn't have the gasket.

I ended up using silicone window sealant, it works so far.

I just wonder how difficult it will be when someone has to change it again.

And check out the videos on youtube, they show an easy way to do it.

If you try without moving the coolant and washer reservoiurs, it will be a severe pain in the ass.

Thanks for the heads up! I watched the videos and i definitely will be breaking everything down for easy access. I called my local parts shop and they have it, i should have asked if the gasket comes with it!
