2000 XLS - missing ECM - questions

Just bought a 2000 XLS in a bit tired shape. It's missing ECM - do I have to look for a specific module? I have heard that I need to pair it with the ignition/key since key is programable...

Also... this used to be a Fire Department truck... might have a police package then... right?

I have found out that immobiliser has to be programed.

Will know more - got my mechanic to look it over (guy is in electronics).

but that is very interesting... if I could possibly use another ECM from another truck.

not sure about "have to" and "dealer" part but I know that some of the things will need to be worked on - will know more tomorrow. My guy is a very good electronics expert... car electronics.

my guy replaced the ECM and programed keys but now I'm getting Fuel Pump Circuit error code...


WTF!?
