The gasket/washer that sits between the head of the tensioner and the cyl head is not flat. It appears to have a bevel or dome to it. The inner edge of the washer is at a different plane from the outer edge. If you lay the washer on a flat surface, with the outer edge in contact with the surface, the inner edge sits higher or above the surface by about 1/16".
Can anyone please advise me which way the washer/gasket should be positioned on the tensioner. Shoud the washer be placed on the tensioner, before the tensioner is mounted, with its inner edge in contact with the head of the tensioner or should the outer edge be in contact?
Thanks for any advice.
