Hi guys hopefully someone can give me a better idea of what to do. I bought my xlt from a impound. from what i can learn the moron that towed it in didnt lift the front when he towed it. when i drive it it acts like it is always in 4x4 i can actually stop it without using the brakes by turning. i have replaced all the bearings, ball joints, outer tie rod ends and cv joints. it seems like the front drivers cv is locked in because of the way it feels. i replaced the 4x4 switch, and switch motor as it will show going into 4 high only. i am driving without the front axle until i can solve this problem. also i was wondering if it is possible to change to a manual lock system. this is my first explorer 4x4 and i love it will go anywheres i have tried. thx
